Guangxi Medical University was established on November 21, 1934, and is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The university is one of the first universities in China to accept an English medical education program for international students, which is limited to clinical medicine. It is directly commissioned by the Central Ministry of Health to lead the Central South Ministry of Health. It is one of the three universities that the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region focuses on. GXMU is comprised of 19 colleges, college of clinic education, and A1 School of clinic education, 9 associated training clinics like A1 associated Clinic and the college of Cancer.

Guangxi Medical University has five year majors for undergraduates, consist of medicine of clinics, preventive (medicine), stomatology and pharmacology, nursing and so on, and three year majors for three year collegians, are composed of cosmetology (medical care also included), stomatology and pharmacology, nursing and much more.
Guangxi Medical University is composed of 60 training departments, offer 100 courses, and 41 majors in 29 subjects those are allowed to grant masters by the government.

Guangxi Medical University is one of the 45 universities which have been authorized to enlist an international students for MBBS program in English by Ministry of Education of China for her comprehensive qualified English curriculum. Presently, there are over 700 international students from 20 countries studying medical science and Chinese in the University.
