Jinan University is one of the best University in China it is located in Guangzhou city. It’s one of the oldest university it’s providing education since Qing Dynasty. Jinan University was founded in 1906 in Nanjing, whose mission is to spread Chinese learning and culture from North to South, and from China overseas. It is the first university in China to recruit foreign students, and is currently a Chinese university with the largest number of international students. The name of the university “Jinan” comes from “The Tribute of Yu” in the Book of History, one of the Confucian Classics which reads  “Reaching Eastward to the North and South, we shall spread the culture far and wide”. The ancestor of the University was Jinan Academy, which was established in 1906 by the Qing Government in Nanjing, and then shifted to Shanghai. In the year of 1927, it was renamed as “Jinan National University.” During the Sino-Japanese and Pacific Wars, the University operated from Jianyang, Fujian Province and returned to Shanghai in 1946. As the People’s Republic of China was being established in 1949, August. Jinan University was merged with Shanghai’s Fudan and Jiaotong Universities. But in 1958, Jinan University had been re-established as an independent institution and shifted to the city of Guangzhou in China’s southern province of Guangdong.

Recently, there are around 46,949 students in this university, among of them 10,412 graduates and 20,926 undergraduates. The number of foreign students, overseas Chinese students, students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, amounts to 11,828. Various cultures converge and blend here.

One of the oldest universities in China and one of the “211” key national universities in China. Jinan University has many other facilities like sports and theatre.

About City:

Guangzhou city capital of Guangdong  province, southern China. Its city centre lies near the head of the Pearl River (Zhu Jiang) Delta, more than 90 miles (145 km) inland from the South China Sea. Because of its position at the meeting point of inland rivers and the sea, it has long been one of China’s main commercial and trading centres. It has served as a doorway for foreign influence since the 3rd century CE and was the first Chinese port to be regularly visited by European traders, who called it Canton. The city is a historic centre of learning. 

Behind the likes of Beijing and Shanghai, Guangzhou is one of the largest cities in China, with a population of around 14m. It’s also one of China’s nine ‘National Central Cities’. Guangzhou has been China’s capital three times.

Guangzhou has Canton Tower. Once the world’s tallest building, Canton Tower stands at a dizzying 600m tall. Thanks to a subtropical climate, Guangzhou is blessed with flowers all year round. So many that it has earned itself the nickname, ‘City of Flowers’. Huaisheng Mosque is China’s oldest and one of the world’s earliest mosques. Originally built over 1,300 years ago, the pagoda-style building is characterized by its striking minaret tower. Situated on the Pearl River, Guangzhou has a maritime heritage stretching back over 2,000 years and its vast port is China’s main transport and trading hub. It was also one of the starting points of the old Silk Road, a trading route that stretched across Asia.

Climate

Guangzhou has a warm oceanic climate. The summer monsoon months are very moist and warm. The city has a long rainy season from April to September. The winters have relatively mild temperatures, are dry and do not last long.
During the months of March, April, November and December you are most likely to experience good weather with pleasant average temperatures that fall between 20 degrees Celsius (68°F) and 26 degrees Celsius (79°F).
