Jiamusi University (JU) is a comprehensive university under the supervision of the Education Department of Heilongjiang Province. The university was established in 1947, located in Jiamusi, a charming city in Heilongjiang Province of China. After 67 years of development, Jiamusi University has found its way into the list of high-level universities given top priority by Heilongjiang Government.
Jiamusi University covers 1,490,000 square meters with 840,130 square meters floor space. It has five school districts and a Hi-Tech Park, twenty-six colleges, a department directly under the university and sixty-nine research institutes. It offers 75 undergraduates degree, 36 Master Degree program among them 10 first—level discipline offering master’s degree, 7 second—level discipline offering master’s degree and 3 disciplines offering professional master’s degree, 2 First Level Authorized Doctor’s Degree subjects and 2 Post Doctoral Scientific Research Workstation. Among them 3 state-level special majors,11 province-level key majors, 9 province-level key subjects, three key laboratories at the provincial level, 4 provincial demonstration experimental centers, and 14 provincial quality courses.
Jiamusi University openly published three journals in the nation and abroad are Social Science Journal, Natural Science Journal of Jiamusi University, and Journal of Heilongjiang Pharmaceutical Science. The university published a total of 5877 academic papers, including 428 in SCI, SSCI, EI, ISTP, and CSSCI. There are 474 units of monographs publicized and 58 items of national patents granted. Jiamusi University obtained a total of 253 items of awards at all levels of science and technology achievement. In recent years, Jiamusi University rewarded about 1174 items of all kinds of projects, including 32 items of national projects.
In recent years, Jiamusi University has been working with an open-door policy. It gives priority to established friendly relationships, educational, academic, scientific exchanges and research with approximate 38 universities in more than 14 countries and regions such as the US, Japan, Russia, South Korea, India and Pakistan. With the scholarship project for foreign students’ study commissioned by the Chinese government, the university has enrolled more than 900 foreign students from 50 countries and regions.

Jiamusi is blessed with four national first-class water transportation ports, one international airport and the unique River-Ocean combined transportation route in the northeast region of China, known as “the Oriental Water Silk Road”. With the China Russia Tongjiang Railway Bridge to be completed soon, the connection between Chinese railway net and Russian Far East Big Railroad , making it possible to reach the European Continental Bridge directly. Jiamusi industrial foundation is strong as national old industrial base, whose equipment manufacture and technology strength are abundant. Jiamusi manufacturing industry, which focuses on farm machinery, electrical machinery excavators and so on , ranks the top level in the same industry. Jiamusi manufacture factors are enriched, now sparing no effort to build agricultural machine city, coal machine production base and electrical machine production enterprise.
Jiamusi is rich in agricultural resources, cultivated area of more than 28 million mu, grain commodity rate of 80% or more, is the main grain producing areas and important high-quality commodity grain base.
