Wuhan, in central China along the middle reaches of Yangtze River has been an important city since ancient time. It is reputed as oriental Chicago.

While Wuhan has been a traditional manufacturing hub for decades, it is also one of the areas promoting modern industrial changes in China. Wuhan has three national development zones, four scientific and technological development parks, over 350 research institutes, 1,656 high tech enterprises, numerous enterprise incubators and investments from 230 Fortune Global 500 firms.

As the meeting point of these routes, the city has long been the chief collecting and distribution point for the products of the middle Yangtze valley and for west and southwest China, particularly for tea, cotton, silk, timber, and tung oil and a variety of manufactured goods.

Climate:

The climate of Wuhan is temperate, with relatively cold winters and hot, muggy, and rainy summers. the summer heat is intense and annoying, while in winter, cold air can stagnate on the ground. Wuhan is a city with a millennia-old history, but today, it is a metropolis, polluted as often happens in large Chinese cities.
