In 1999, Shandong First Medical University got the qualification to enroll of international students, and recruit international language students and short-time studying students. Since 2004, it started to recruit undergraduates of clinical medicine. In 2007, it built International Education School, which is responsible for international students’ education by implementing the management of enrollment, teaching, daily management, service apartment. College mainly recruits undergraduates of clinical medicine, master’s level students, six years of undergraduate. College under the secretary, international students management, international students office, foreign training centers, teaching affairs office, foreign language teaching and research section.
The university image is enhanced steadily in the country of origin, and the university hold enrollment conference in the country of origin regularly. In 2012, the university established the center of Jakarta Education of Taishan Medical University in Jakarta, Indonesia, and it participated in international students of China education exhibition; it visited 17 cities in the north of India, and held 24 different scale enrollment conference. It explored the student market in northern India; In 2014, the school secretary Wang led the team to India, Nepal for investigating foreign countries’ higher medical education and the construction situation of Our school’s base. In addition, he visited the Consulate General of China in Mumbai by introducing the development of our school, school-running characteristics, the international strategy and so on. Furthermore, the school increased the enrollment potential of international students in India and set up Taishan Medical University Alumni Association of India students and Alumni Association of Nepal students. In 2015, the school participated in education exhibition in Malaysia.
In the year 2010, the university was listed by the Ministry of Education as one of the Medical Undergraduate Education (offered in English) Institutions for overseas students. In June 2011, the university was authorized by national Hanban to hold tests for Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK). The university was recognized as one of the first 16 academies and colleges to accept the overseas student scholarship issued by Shandong Province. We positively develop cooperative education programs with foreign countries. Cooperating with the University of Hertfordshire, We recruit students majored in Medical Imaging, Nursing, Pharmacy and Marketing Management; cooperating with the University of Chonbuk National University, we recruit students majored in Clinical medicine; cooperating with Yonsei University, we recruit students majored in Medical imaging.

Located in the center of Shandong Province, Tai’an lies at the south foot of Taishan Mountain and adjoins Jinan to the north, Qufu to the south, the Yellow River to the west and Zibo to the east. Tai’an is named after Taishan Mountain, wishing for a prosperous country and people at peace. Taishan Mountain is also the first scenic spot worth visiting. It has even become a synonym for Tai’an.
In ancient times, Chinese people worshipped Taishan Mountain as there is a saying that if Taishan Mountain is stable, so is the entire China. So 13 Chinese emperors once offered sacrifices to Heaven and Earth on their own while 24 emperors sent officials to Taishan to sacrifice 72 times. Until now, more than 20 ancient buildings have been well preserved in Taishan Mountain which is also a sacred land for both Buddhism and Taoism. Of course, Tai’ an has other beautiful scenic spots such as Peach Blossom Ravine, Feicheng Peach Orchards World Scenic Area and Culaishan National Forest Park.
Tai’an is a noted tourist city. Although Taishan Mountain is the most celebrated of its attractions, other scenic spots, such as the Peach Blossom Ravine and Dai Temple, are also well worth a visit.
In Tai’an, the summers are long, warm, muggy, wet, and partly cloudy and the winters are short, very cold, snowy, and mostly clear. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 25°F to 87°F and is rarely below 17°F or above 94°F.
