Hebei University of Engineering

Hebei University of Engineering (HUE) is a provincial university that is jointly funded by the Hebei Provincial Government and the Ministry of Water Resources of China. It is one of the provincial “National Key Construction First-class Universities” in Hebei and a recognized Civilized Unit of Hebei Province.

It has 80% of courses in the field of Engineering, but also offers other courses including Clinical Medicine (MBBS). Their Clinical Medicine major was accredited by the Working Committee for the Accreditation of Medical Education, MOE, China.

HUE supports international cooperation and exchange with other universities. It has established academic exchange with 50 universities in 19 countries, including Japan, US, UK, Germany, and many others.

The Medical School of Hebei University of Engineering was established in 1951 meanwhile a 3-A affiliated hospital was founded in 1970.
It has four laboratories under its subordination. All labs are well-equipped and are used for all basic and experimental coursework.
Moreover, the university is associated with many clinical teaching bases which support training of the medical students. The affiliation includes 7 hospitals (teaching/affiliated/non-affiliated included).
Currently, the full-time undergraduate enrollment is around 23,000 students, with approx. 150 international students studying at HUE.
The university has a strong faculty, with more than 2,000 distinguished professionals and degree holders who are responsible for teaching the new generation.

Criteria & Eligibility:

Applicant must be a non-Chinese citizen holding a valid foreign passport.
The age range should be between 18 to 25 years to be eligible.
Applicant must have completed high school / secondary education (e.g. FSc / Higher Secondary / A Levels / equivalent).
The minimum marks of all subjects should be 60% or above.
Chinese Language Proficiency, passing HSK 4 before internship is required.
The applicant must be physically healthy per the university foreign student health standards.

Special notes:

Every student must pay an application fee of 1,000RMB with documents, which is non-refundable in case student wishes to withdraw admission application.
Graduates are eligible to take licensing exams worldwide such as USMLE, PLAB, and ECFMG.
HSK is not required in the first year, however, students must pass HSK-4 before internship.
Any forged or fake documents provided will be the responsibility of student.
2-sharing rooms are available at 4500 RMB/year.
All the students must adhere to rules and regulations of the university.

Key Features:

The clinical teaching base hospitals that are affiliated with the HUE includes 3-Grade-A hospital. Students can learn and get valuable exposure to a large number of case load, as well as modern diagnostic and therapeutic equipment used in the medical field. All domestic and international students can also get experience in many specialties, finding the right sub-field for them.

Hostel Facilities

The on-campus accommodation is available for international students. One apartment is provided to two students which includes a built-in shower and toilet, Wi-Fi connection, and air conditioner. Each floor of the university dormitory has study rooms and kitchen with an induction cooker, microwave oven, and other necessary tools.

Handan is a historic city in southern Hebei Province, China. It is known for its historical sites, traditional arts, and is often called the “Capital of Chinese Idioms”. The city was the capital of Zhao Kingdom and now has a large industrial set up.

It houses many attractions for international students and visitors to enjoy. Students can access all basic services in this city with ease. Muslims can even get halal food at their university as well as at other places in the city. However, they may need to search for it.

Climate

The temperature varies all year-round, but in winters it can dip to –5 °C to –10 °C range at nights, while reaching 30-35 °C in summer afternoons. The summer season can also get monsoon rain in the June to August period.

Students should be prepared for summer, winter, autumn, and spring season. They are likely to face all season variations, ranging from hot and humid season to cold and dry winter.
